Hello! My name is Olivia and I’m a coloured pencil artist
from New Zealand.

I was given my first set of coloured pencils from my Dad one Christmas when I was sixteen. Before then, I hadn’t really used pencils- and I fell in love with them right away. For someone like me who is impatient with art, paint just wasn’t an option. I love how versatile pencils are, and how you can layer them and blend colours together to create different effects. I don’t see myself getting bored with coloured pencils any time soon. I think they are highly underrated!

I come from a family of artists. My mother is a painter (as was her mother) and
was previously an art restorer. My father is an art dealer, my brother is an animator, and I have cousins and aunties who are artists too. However, I never showed much of an interest in art until I got those coloured pencils for Christmas.

I have now been doing this full time since 2014, and I get to draw every day for a living. Whether it be creating new artworks to turn into prints, collaborating with other businesses and producing designs for clothing, or drawing commissioned artworks of peoples pets, I absolutely love every part of it and I am beyond grateful to call it my job!
